Mrs. Winkler Leaves the House

Feature Film

Synopsis

“Mrs. Winkler Leaves the House” tells the story of Mrs. Winkler, 80 (Angela Winkler), and her daughter Emi, 47 (Laura Tonke). Mrs. Winkler has no one left but Emi; her beloved husband died very early on. She never fully emerged from her grief and has relied on her daughter throughout her entire life. When Emi accepts a theater engagement and can no longer take care of her mother, a care robot is brought in to take over. Mrs. Winkler feels abandoned — she is angry and hurt, and wants nothing to do with robots. Over time, however, an unexpected friendship develops between Mrs. Winkler and the care robot — who, as it turns out, is also programmed to end her life should her vital signs continue to decline...
